Armos

Cementerio Calvo, San José City. Costa Rica (proposed location)

Armos achieves the graceful union of life and death, celebrating — in a space of peace and harmony — the passage along that unknown road to the beyond. Both inside and outside the building, the architecture, through its natural surroundings, envelops the visitor: it welcomes, consoles, and releases them, while also revealing the rawness of life through its materials. The visitor remains in constant cognitive dialogue with ARMOS.

In this way, we see how architecture truly acts as an ARTICULATOR between life and death — the building lives, it changes, it absorbs, purifies, and releases energy back into the universe. ARMOS IS A TOOL FOR LIVING. It is an articulator between life and death, enabling a positive and peaceful understanding of the act of dying, while drawing on its natural surroundings to carry these concepts to the visitor — accompanying and strengthening those who grieve.
