Paraíso, Playa Negra, Guanacaste. Costa Rica
A secluded, rural landscape defines the site where this project takes shape. The coastline and the dry tropical forest vegetation set the boundaries and design parameters for the home, while the surrounding family land defines its access points, openings, and activities. True to its name, Casa Madre — "Mother House" — was designed around the needs and dream of a matriarch seeking a new beginning in the Guanacaste plains. The design embraces both the built space and the surrounding landscape.
